Kent International Jamboree kicked off on Thursday 30th July, with a total of 2500 participants it was the biggest event our Scouts had ever been on!
Our Troop were on Subcamp E, which was the furthest from the toilets, the showers, the shop, well, everything really!
On our first full day we were taken off to Hastings, which turned out to be a good day, if just a little too eventful for our liking!
On other days we did water activities, bell boating, kayaking and raft building, It's a Knockout with giant inflatables and lots of water and foam, and a couple of days doing on-site activities such as climbing, high ropes and go-karts. In the evenings there were things like talent contests and discos.
Despite some early misgivings (on the Leaders part, we don't think the Scouts were too bothered about not being able to shower) the week turned out to be really great! Everyone had an excellent time and can't wait for the next one, which we're told is in four years. Maybe the Leaders will have recovered by then...
